Oreo is a 3 year old Finnish Lapphund who has just been away for a successful trip to Ireland for breed showing where he gained 3x Green Star and 1x CACIB (Irish and European Championship Certifications, respectively) amongst other brilliant placings.

Oreo’s owner, Jeanette, finds that regular massage treatments mean that Oreo will always feel and move at his best - which definitely helps him in the show ring.

👉 Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Following my CPD last week, there is a new blog post live on my website all about MLD.

This gentle therapy is valuable addition to canine massage therapy, as it is designed to support the movement of lymph fluid through the body. It is particularly useful for dogs who are recovering, post-surgery, dealing with swelling or needing a calm and gentle treatment.

We are on our way home from three fantastic days of CPD with Canine Massage Therapy Centre, where I refreshed and adapted existing skills while also learning techniques in deep tissue massage and manual lymphatic drainage.

A huge thank you to Nat and Sam for the past few days - and to Donut for being the perfect demo dog throughout. He has definitely earned lots of treats and a well-deserved rest!

We travel back to Guernsey tomorrow - ready for the Guernsey Kennel Club Pet Dog Show on Sunday!

This week I am in the UK to continue my learning, with skills including Advanced Deep Tissue Massage and Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

Meet Mackie 🩵 Mackie is my mum’s dog, Code’s nephew, and also a competitive agility and hoopers dog.

As it was cool in the treatment room, Mackie had an early treatment (complete with fan and cool mat) for maintenance before his hoopers competition this weekend.
