Faith in Action: Transforming Lives Through Faith, Partnership and Service

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the Faith in Action: Zolozolo AY HIV Awareness and Support Initiative, implemented by Zolozolo West Seventh-day Adventist Youth Ministries (AYM) with generous financial support from Adventist AIDS International Ministry (AAIM). The project was implemented between 1 April and 30 June 2026 and demonstrated the powerful role that faith communities can play in advancing public health.

Over the past three months, we worked hand in hand with Zolozolo Clinic, church leadership, schools, community leaders, youth clubs, and dedicated volunteers to promote HIV awareness, reduce stigma, and improve access to HIV testing services within the Zolozolo community.

Our key achievements include:
✅ Successfully reaching hundreds of community members through schools, churches, markets, youth clubs, and radio awareness programmes.
✅ Distributing 385 oral HIV self-test kits, exceeding our original target of 150 by 257%.
✅ Strengthening partnerships between the church and the Ministry of Health to improve community access to HIV services.
✅ Training and empowering Adventist Youth leaders to become long-term HIV advocates and peer educators.
✅ Demonstrating that faith-based organisations can effectively complement government efforts in preventing HIV and promoting healthier communities.

Beyond the numbers, this initiative has strengthened community trust, encouraged open conversations about HIV, reduced stigma, and inspired young people to become champions of health and hope.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Adventist Aids International Ministry-AAIM (AAIM) for believing in our vision and investing in our youth ministry. We also sincerely thank Zolozolo Clinic, the North Malawi Conference, church leadership, volunteers, community leaders, schools, and every individual who contributed to the success of this initiative.

This project marks the beginning of a bigger vision. Zolozolo West Seventh-day Adventist Church is committed to building a sustainable, youth-led health ministry that integrates HIV prevention, mentorship, life skills, and community development, creating lasting impact for generations to come.
