Emissaries Of The French🇫🇷 Government Led By Jean-Marie Bayol From French Porto Novo Reached Ado Odo Kingdom To Negotiate With The Olofin Adimula Oodua Of Ado Odo Kingdom On Profitable Trade Partnership And Alliance With Ado Odo Kingdom With Diplomatic Promise Through An Official Letter To Construct A Railway Line From Porto Novo To Ado Odo Kingdom.

Three Years Later, The British 🇬🇧 Government Would Counter The French🇫🇷 Colonial Government Visit To Ado Odo Kingdom After Much Persuasion With The Olofin Of Ado-Odo To Sign A Treaty Of Peace And Friendship With The British 🇬🇧 Government On August 8,1891.

Happy weekend, good people of Ado-Odo/Igbesa and Ogun State.

As the campaign approaches, it is important to remind ourselves what true representation should look like. It is not simply about who wants the office, but who has the experience, understanding and connection with the people to represent us effectively.

Hon. Abiola Bakare (Onimokan) brings professional experience, exposure and discipline, alongside years of public service that have brought him closer to the realities of our people and the demands of effective representation.

But beyond the résumé, there is something even more important:

He has walked our streets, listened to our people and engaged with our communities. He understands the realities of our young people, traders, artisans, families and communities because these are not stories he has only heard.

𝐇𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. 𝐇𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬. 𝐇𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.

That is what representation should be about: someone who does not only speak for us, but can speak from our experience.

No one can represent a people better than someone who is truly a part and parcel of them.

Now, the responsibility is ours.

Talk to your family. Talk to your friends. Talk to your neighbours. Tell them about Onimokan. Share his story. Share his vision. Have the conversation.

Because a movement built around the people must be carried by the people.

When God Be For You...😭 The Story Of Olabiyi, And How She Got Favoured To Play At 2026 U-20 World Cup🇳🇬🦅

Alaba Folajomi Olabiyi, is a 19-year-old prolific goalscorer contracted with Bayelsa Queens.

In 2025, she made Nigeria's team to WAFU-B U-20, helping them to win the championship. She scored one of the crucial goals that helped Nigeria wallop Ghana 3-0.

In 2026, for world cup qualifiers... She scored Nigeria's only goal away at Rwanda.

Again, she scored against Rwanda in Nigeria, to help her team qualify for the world cup.

Shockingly, she was dropped from the squad for the world cup; despite all these contributions🤦🏿‍♂️

In her most recent post on Instagram she prayed...

"I will get what I worked for. I will enjoy the Lord's blessings; and all will go well for me.".

And God answered her prayers, because, in the dying minute, the little girl that was excluded from the world cup squad... Has been Included by Providence.

We pray she shines and get the recognition she desired.

A LEGACY OF FREEDOM: AWORILAND REMEMBERS THE SLAVE TRADE AND ITS ABOLITION

23rd August 2026.

A Message from the Olofin Adimula Oodua of Ado-Odo, Aworiland.

On this solemn occasion of the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and Its Abolition, the people of Aworiland join the international community in remembering the millions of Africans whose lives were devastated by the transatlantic slave trade and in reaffirming our collective commitment to freedom, dignity, justice and equality.

The transatlantic slave trade was one of the most brutal systems of human exploitation in history. Millions of Africans were forcibly taken from their families and ancestral homes, chained and transported across the Atlantic under horrific conditions. Those who survived were subjected to dehumanisation, violence, forced labour and the destruction of their identities and communities.
Today, we remember the victims with solemnity. We honour those who resisted enslavement, those who fought for freedom, and all those whose courage contributed to the eventual abolition of this terrible trade.

OUR OWN HISTORY IN AWORILAND

For the people of Aworiland, this remembrance carries a special historical significance.
We remember the courageous leadership of one of my illustrious predecessors, King Olofin Agbojojoye, who took a historic stand against the slave trade and worked to prohibit the practice within the territories under his authority.

Historical records and the traditions preserved by our people recount that on 27th June 1863, Olofin Agbojojoye entered into an anti-slavery treaty with the British Government, formally committing to the abolition of the slave trade within his territories.
This was not merely an agreement on paper. It represented an important assertion of traditional African leadership and a commitment to the protection of human life and dignity at a time when the slave trade had inflicted enormous suffering upon African societies.

As we commemorate this international day, we therefore remember Ado-Odo, the historic seat of the Olofin, within the broader history and heritage of Aworiland, and we honour the role played by our forebears in confronting the evil of human enslavement.

The history of Aworiland is part of the wider history of Africa and humanity. Our remembrance today is therefore not intended to reopen wounds, but to ensure that the lessons of the past are never forgotten.

A COMMITMENT TO THE FUTURE

The best tribute we can offer to those who suffered is to build a society where every human being is treated with dignity and where freedom, justice and equality are protected.

Aworiland stands in solidarity with peoples and nations across the world in the pursuit of a future that is peaceful, inclusive, equal, safe, sustainable and resilient.

We owe it to our ancestors, to the victims of slavery, and to generations yet unborn to reject every form of dehumanisation, oppression and discrimination. May the memory of those who suffered never be forgotten, may the courage of those who resisted oppression continue to inspire us and may humanity never again permit the horrors of slavery to return in any form.
