Durham police say Rajendranauth Doodnauth Maraj, 50, of Richmond Hill, New York, was hired by a family in Oshawa to perform a ceremony. He told the woman she was possessed by evil spirits, took her to a private location, and sexually assaulted her under the guise of the ritual.

He is charged with sexual assault and was held for a bail hearing. Police say there may be more victims and have released his photo.
