Fellow Citizens,

Today we woke up to the sad news that our UPND office in Twapia Ward, Dag Hammarskjöld Constituency, was allegedly stoned by suspected opposition supporters near the venue where they intend to hold a rally today.

We are calling upon the Zambia Police Service, particularly the Copperbelt Provincial Command and the district command, to thoroughly investigate this matter and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

We urge our youths and supporters to remain calm and not take the law into their own hands. Let us continue to uphold peace and respect the guidance of our Republican President, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, who has consistently called for peaceful campaigns and respect for the rule of law.

The incident has resulted in the loss of two motorbikes, four bicycles, and two bags of mealie meal. We strongly condemn this act of vandalism and call for such barbaric behaviour to come to an end.

Let us all work together to ensure that this election period remains peaceful, with differences resolved through lawful and democratic means.
