Makeup FX by Rae

In previous years I usually spend the upcoming season working at a local haunt. My time there fueled my decision to go to school, but that wasn't because of where I worked. It was because of who I worked with. spiralfx_oddities taught me everything they know and it has led to numerous collaborations and now our very own FX Shop ChambersFX. To list all the amazing people and artists I met would make this post last forever, and I'm sad to say that this list will no longer grow.

I've made the decision to step away and move on to bigger and better things because I refuse to be involved in unhealthy working environments that refuse to treat people with dignity and respect. Environments that refuse to adhere to best practices in safety and sanitization. Environments where leadership looks down on their peers instead of supports them.

I am proud of the work I did. I expanded my skills contributing more than just my makeup artistry and the stamp I leave behind is one that I am proud of.

Very excited for what comes next because bigger and better could not be more accurate!

I might have to explore a side hustle as a nail tech! 😜

Appreciating my roots is always something that's been very important to me. For many years now, I've been supporting my drama teacher from Junior High, by coming in and offering workshops or doing presentations to help her students learn more about makeup. Just this weekend I was in helping the learn how to apply a latex bald cap for their upcoming production of

I first experimented with makeup in my theatre classes in junior high and high school, so getting a chance to go back and inspire others who are interested, just like I was, is truly a pleasure!
