Fèath & Elemi
Specializing in TMJD, emotional health, concussion, and pediatrics. Curious about our business name?? Latin name is Canarium luzonicum.
We are a multi-disciplinary wellness clinic offering a variety of soft tissue therapies including Massage, Bowen, Craniosacral Therapies & Emotional Freedom Technique. Fèath is pronounced like 'feather' without the 'er' and is translated from Gaelic to mean absence of stress; the state of being calm; peacefulness; absence of worry, anger, or fear or other strong negative emotion., which is something we could all use a bit extra of these days. Elemi is one of the essential oils Kristen uses in her essential oil business, B2Pur. It is often used for nervous exhaustion, pulling oneself back together when you feel like falling apart, as an expectorant and for muscle pain and fatigue. Combining these two words perfectly describes what we aim to do- provide you with an opportunity to destress, relax your muscles, and leave feeling a little bit more 'whole' than when you came in ♥

School is back. So are the practices, games, workouts, and busy schedules.
As your calendar fills up, don't let recovery become the item that gets pushed aside.
Training challenges your body, but recovery helps you come back ready for the next practice, game, or workout. Making time for recovery—including massage therapy—can help you manage muscle tension, support your recovery routine, and keep you feeling your best throughout the season.
💚 This fall, schedule recovery like you schedule practice. Book your massage before your calendar fills up.

Perimenopause can look different for everyone, and the symptoms aren’t always what we expect. 🌿
While changes to your menstrual cycle are often one of the first signs, perimenopause can also affect energy, sleep, mood, concentration, and how your muscles and joints feel.
You might experience several symptoms, just one or two, or none at all. Symptoms can also change over time as hormone levels fluctuate.
If something feels different in your body, you're not imagining it — and you don't have to simply push through it. 🤍
September is Perimenopause Awareness Month, making it a great time to learn more about the changes your body may be going through and the support available to you.

🏈 Should you book a massage before or after game day?
The answer is both—it depends on what you're hoping to achieve.
A massage before competition can help prepare your body by easing muscle tension and improving mobility. If it's on the day of the event, it's generally best to keep it short and focused on preparing your body for movement rather than deep tissue work.
After the game, the focus shifts to recovery. Massage can help ease muscle tension, encourage relaxation, and complement other recovery habits like staying hydrated, eating well, getting enough sleep, and incorporating active recovery.
💚 Whether you're training for your next competition or recovering from your last one, massage can be a valuable part of your overall performance and recovery plan.

A warm-up and a cool-down aren't the same thing—and both deserve a place in your routine.
A warm-up prepares your body for movement by gradually increasing your heart rate and getting your muscles ready for activity. After your workout or game, a cool-down helps your body transition back to a resting state and supports your recovery.
Remember:
🔥 Warm up with movement.
❄️ Cool down with slower movement and stretching.
Whether you're training for competition or staying active for fun, giving your body time to prepare and recover can help you feel your best.
💚 Looking for extra support? Massage therapy can be a valuable part of your recovery routine by helping manage muscle tension and keeping you ready for your next activity.

🏃 The most overlooked part of your workout? Your cool-down.
Many athletes focus on training hard, but recovery begins the moment your workout ends. Taking time to cool down helps your body gradually transition back to a resting state and sets the foundation for recovery.
A proper cool-down can:
❄️ Gradually lower your heart rate
🧘 Help reduce post-exercise stiffness
💧 Encourage rehydration
🌿 Prepare your body for recovery
The work you put into recovery today can influence how you feel and perform tomorrow. Don't rush out the door—give your body the chance to recover.
💚 Recovery is where progress continues.

Perimenopause can bring changes that go far beyond your menstrual cycle. From sleep and mood changes to muscle tension and everyday aches, your body may feel different as hormone levels fluctuate. 🌿
Massage can be one supportive part of managing some of the physical changes that may come with this transition — helping promote relaxation, ease muscle tension, and support overall comfort.
Most importantly, you don't have to navigate the changes alone or simply “push through.” Understanding your body and finding support that works for you matters. 🤍
If you're experiencing tension, discomfort, or simply want to learn more about how massage may fit into your wellness routine, book in with one of our practitioners.

It's a gentle therapy based on the idea that specific points on the feet correspond to different areas of the body. By applying pressure to these reflex points, many people find reflexology to be a deeply relaxing addition to their wellness routine.
At Feath & Elemi, Kimberly incorporates reflexology into her therapeutic massage treatments, combining the benefits of massage with reflexology techniques in one personalized session. Every treatment is tailored to your individual goals, whether you're looking to ease muscle tension, relax, or simply take time for yourself.
