Me: “Okay, I’m just gonna post it and forget about it. I genuinely don’t care how many views it gets.”

Also me, approximately 4 minutes and 37 seconds later: opens TikTok 👁️👄👁️

“Hmm… interesting. Only 46 views.”

Refreshes.

“Okay, 52. We’re gaining traction.”

Refreshes again 12 seconds later.

“WHY IS IT STUCK AT 53?!”

Now I’m analyzing the likes-to-views ratio, checking who watched it, wondering if I should delete and repost, contemplating changing the caption, blaming the algorithm, and convincing myself that maybe it just needs “a little more time.”

Meanwhile, someone who posted a video of their cat blinking has 2.7 million views.

Anyway, I’ll be back in 5 minutes to check again because clearly THIS is the one that’s going to change my life. 💀😂

🚨 PSA: We promise we’re not trying to be the cancellation police 🚨

Life happens. Kids get sick, cars break down, plans change, you suddenly remember you have somewhere to be… we GET IT. 😂

BUT… here’s your friendly reminder about our 24-hour cancellation policy at Van Isle Beauty:

If you cancel your appointment within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time, you will be charged 50% of the service cost.

And before you hit us with the “but whyyyyy 😭” — let us explain!

When you book an appointment, that time is specifically reserved for you. Our girls have blocked off that time in their schedules, and when an appointment is cancelled last minute, it’s usually too late to fill that spot with another client.

Which means while you’re off living your best life, our beauty girl is sitting there staring at an empty appointment slot like 🧍‍♀️💀

Our girls work hard, and these appointments are how they make their living. A last-minute cancellation can mean losing out on hours of work and income that they can’t get back.

We absolutely understand that emergencies and unexpected things happen, and we’re always going to approach those situations with kindness and common sense. ❤️

We just ask that if you know you can’t make your appointment, please give us at least 24 hours notice. It gives us a chance to fill your spot, and it keeps our artists from losing out on their income.

So basically:

Cancel early = everyone’s happy.
Cancel last minute = our girl loses money.
No-show = everyone cries. 😂

We love you, we love doing your lashes/hair/nails/facials/jewellery/etc., and we appreciate you respecting our time just as much as we respect yours. 🤍

If your lash extensions could talk, they would be screaming, “PLEASE STOP PUTTING MASCARA ON ME.” 😂

Ladies, we love the enthusiasm. We love that you want your lashes to be EXTRA. But putting mascara on your lash extensions is basically bringing a muddy pair of shoes into a freshly cleaned house and then asking your lash tech why she looks stressed.

Mascara can cause buildup around your extensions, make them clump together, interfere with proper cleansing, and shorten the life of your beautiful lash set. And once that mascara starts mixing with natural oils, makeup, and all the other mystery substances living rent-free around your eyes… your lash tech is the one who has to deal with the aftermath at your next appointment.

And please, for the love of all things fluffy, do NOT show up to your lash appointment with three layers of mascara still hanging on for dear life. Your lash tech should be applying lashes, not conducting a deep-cleaning excavation on your eyelids.

Your extensions were designed to give you that dark, full, effortless look WITHOUT mascara. Let them do their job! Give them a gentle cleanse, brush them regularly, and let those little lash babies live their best mascara-free life.

Your lashes will last longer, your extensions will stay prettier, your lash tech will be happier, and everyone leaves the appointment emotionally unscathed.

Basically: Mascara on natural lashes? Sure. Mascara on lash extensions? Girl, respectfully… put the wand DOWN.

POV: Your lash tech is running 15 minutes behind… so naturally, I’ve been assigned the role of ✨entertainment✨ 😂

Are you annoyed that your appointment is running late? Maybe.
Are you now questioning every life choice that led you to book a lash appointment? Probably.
But are you going to get a full-blown concert while you wait? ABSOLUTELY. 🎤😂

Because at Van Isle Beauty, we don’t believe in awkward waiting-room silence. If your lash tech is running behind, I will personally make sure you are distracted, entertained, mildly concerned, and questioning whether I should’ve been hired as a receptionist or a backup vocalist. 💀

15 minutes late? No problem.
20 minutes late? I’m on verse two.
30 minutes late? Babe, we’re doing the bridge AND I’m taking requests. 🎶

Your lashes may not be ready yet, but the show has already started. 💅🏼😂

It’s honestly a toxic relationship at this point. 😂

I swear, I can sit at the front desk for 45 minutes and that bell will NOT make a single sound. Not one. Just sitting there looking pretty, collecting dust, and questioning its purpose in life.

But the SECOND I stand up to go to the washroom? 🔔 DING DING DING.

Need to go pack an order? 🔔 DING.

Need to grab something from the back? 🔔 DING.

Need to take one single sip of water because apparently I’m a human being with basic needs? 🔔 DING DING DING.

And somehow, within those 30 seconds I’m gone, suddenly there are 45 people standing at the front desk, the phone is ringing, someone needs to book an appointment, someone has a question about a product, someone is waiting to check out, and I’m sprinting back like I’ve just been called into an emergency situation. 😂

Meanwhile, when I’m actually sitting at the desk:

👩🏼 “Can I help anyone?”

Silence.

👩🏼 “Hello?”

Crickets.

👩🏼 “So we’re just not doing anything today?”

The bell: 🧍🏼‍♀️

I’ve accepted that the bell has a personal vendetta against me. It waits. It watches. It waits until I’m at the least convenient possible moment and then decides, “NOW. This is the time.” 😂

Front desk life: where you’re somehow receptionist, cashier, scheduler, customer service, problem solver, order packer, phone operator AND professional bell runner… all while trying to p*e in peace. 💀😂
