We wanted to keep our NaturalDermStore customers informed about a change affecting the wider skincare industry. As of 8 September 2026, new Canadian tariffs, some as high as 50%, have come into effect on a range of American goods, including select cosmetic and skincare products. These are retaliatory measures introduced in response to tariffs the US placed on Canadian goods, and they apply broadly across the industry, not just to us.

We want to be upfront: this will affect the cost of sourcing certain US skincare brands going forward. That said, we're doing everything we can to delay or minimize the impact on our prices. We've been absorbing costs where possible and are committed to holding off on price increases for as long as it's feasible.

Unfortunately, given the scale of these tariffs, some price adjustments may become unavoidable over time, particularly on US-made products most affected. We'll continue to monitor the situation closely and will only make changes if and when they're truly necessary. As always, we'll be transparent with you if and when that happens.

Thank you for your continued support, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about specific products.

We wanted to give our NaturalDermStore customers a heads-up about something we’re keeping an eye on. There have been ongoing rumours within the professional skincare community suggesting that Roccoco may be closing. We can now confirm that ASIC (the Australian Securities and Investments Commission) published a notice on 20 August 2026 regarding the appointment of liquidators to Roccoco Cosmetics Pty Ltd, the company behind Roccoco Botanicals. Beyond this notice, the company itself has remained vague, so we don’t yet know what this means for the brand’s future.⁣

We also want to apologize for the inventory challenges over the last few months. This situation has been unexpected on our end as well, and we know it’s been frustrating to see products go in and out of stock without much explanation. Thank you for bearing with us through it.⁣

We expect to have clearer information in the coming weeks. In the meantime, if you’re a fan of this brand, we’d recommend stocking up sooner rather than later. Our inventory is quite limited, so it’s worth shopping now while stock lasts.⁣

If Roccoco’s closure is confirmed, we’ll be working hard to find suitable alternatives for all our clients as quickly as possible. We’ve loved this brand over the past few years, and some of their treatments may be genuinely hard to replace.

When your skin feels tight, dry and possibly a little itchy, it's natural to think that you've got a dry skin type - right? The truth is, there could be two possible reasons why your skin is feeling this way. Other than the most simple answer - it's true that you have dry skin - your skin might actually be dehydrated.

🌵 Dry Skin:
First off, it's important to note that dry skin is a skin type - we can think of it as the baseline for how your skin is going to act. Dry skin is usually classified as skin that doesn't have enough lipids - if you find that your skin hardly ever produces any oil, always looks super matte and your pores are invisible, it's likely that you have dry skin.

Other tell-tale signs of dry skin can include skin patches, especially ones that become more apparent with makeup. Another way to tell that you have dry skin has to do with understanding what causes dry skin - since these causes are quite different from what causes dehydrated skin.

Skin types are mostly determined by genetics, age and hormones - and are not really changeable by using certain products.

💧 Dehydrated Skin:
Unfortunately, dehydrated skin can look very similar to dry skin - with a few key differences. Dehydrated skin tends to look dull, and lacks any luminosity. In extreme cases, there are significant dry skin patches and irritation at the same time.
Another telltale sign that your skin is dehydrated is the sudden appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As in, a lot of them, especially around your under eyes. Wrinkles and fine lines appear deeper when your skin is dehydrated because there isn't as much water in your skin to keep it looking full and plump!

The good news is that dehydrated skin is a temporary condition that your skin can be in - temporary being the keyword!

Are you dry or dehydrated??

Chances are you've heard that vitamin A is a key ingredient in skin care. Its remarkable ability to reverse aging, increase nutrients and encourage the production of collagen and elasticity in the skin is unmatched.
But with so many different forms of the vitamin A molecule, it can be difficult and overwhelming to figure out what is best for our skin.

In the body, we convert Beta Carotene into Retinol, Retinol into Retinaldehyde and Retinaldehyde into Retinoic Acid.

You've probably seen the R words thrown around a lot while looking for information on Vitamin A for your skin. But what is the difference between Retinol and Retinaldehyde?

Research has shown that Retinaldehyde and Retinoic Acid are 500 times more active than their vitamin A counterparts (Beta Carotene and Retinol), meaning smaller amounts can be used and absorbed into the skin to achieve collagen stimulation and skin-smoothing results. And Retinaldehyde is gentler on your skin.
Retinoic Acid, when applied topically, can be irritating and cause over-exfoliation or shedding and can be very inflammatory.

There are many retinaldehyde benefits but the ones below are some of our favourites:
💗 Promotes cell turnover
💗 Brightens skin tone
💗 Aids skin tightening
💗 Thickens your dermis (inner layer of your skin)
💗 Restores a youthful complexion without irritation
💗 Gentler on your skin compared to other Vitamin A
💗 Safe to use while you're pregnant or breastfeeding
💗 Safe to use morning and night

Osmosis' unique liposomal delivery system ensures optimal results by coating the retinaldehyde molecule in a liposome called phosphatidylcholine to increase pe*******on by 600%. This coating mimics the properties of the cells in your body, making it easily recognizable by the skin and body to enhance absorption and boost results.
