If you protect your skin and still see new dark spots, the cause is often not the sun. It is sensitized skin.

Most of us protect against UVA and UVB. Very few realise that visible light, the light we can actually see, also contributes to dark spots and premature aging.

UVB sits at 290 to 320 nanometres and UVA at 320 to 400. Visible light spans roughly 400 to 700, and its highest-energy portion, blue light, sits around 400 to 500.
