I’ve been through souks in Turkey. I’ve been through souks in Israel...

Marrakech is a whole other level.

Having a local we trusted meant we could actually look around, ask questions, learn what we were seeing, and enjoy the chaos.

My fave part today wasn’t the souks.

It’s been in the quiet moments.

Sitting on a rooftop. Drinking tea. Wandering around with

Because sometimes the adventure isn’t what you came to see.

It’s who you get to be with while you’re seeing it.

We’re not renewing our vows.

Every year, we get married again. New place. New agreements . New relationship.

This year: Morocco. 🇲🇦

We land in Marrakech, some young boys in the Medina shout: “That road is closed…”

It wasn’t. 😆

They guide us in a big loop to our Riad when we were literally 1 minute away

Then they ask for money.

I knew EXACTLY what was happening.

But it was late, i was tired and not sure where we were

What’s the best story you ever overpaid for?

Did any of them surprise you?

1: Driving. Seven months without touching a steering wheel. I walk, I take the metro, no windshield between me and the world anymore.

2 shots. Seven months without hearing a single one. Three weeks after we left Austin, Texas. Mass shooting. One block from my apartment.

3: Safety. Tah can walk down the street without being followed, filmed, or threatened just because of how he looks. Because that’s what happened in Spicewood, Texas. He was walking.

I walked away from a six-figure income , retreats and sold-out events. After three miscarriages and sixty-hour weeks, my body stopped negotiating.
