We are a small team of professional, reliable and friendly hair and makeup experts based in South West London. We spend our weekends making brides look their absolute best escorted by their gorgeous looking bridesmaids; not to mention some stunning mums too. In the week, Lucy hosts beauty parties, bridal trials and one to one makeup lessons. We are proud to be a featured part of a woman's path to outer beauty and inner confiendence.
As most of you know, I home educate my 2 children. I am passionate about Steiner Waldorf education as well as all the fun & healing stuff for adults such as meditation, yoga, Pilates, reiki, Astrology, shamanic and somatic work, foraging, dancing, animals, kitchen and market gardening, regenerative and biodynamic farming, re-wilding, nutrition and living in community.
It’s time to create a space, in Cornwall, where my tribe (that I will attract!) and I, can hold space for anyone who feels called to come.

✨Why I started my business✨
🤍From a young age, I was obsessed with weddings and fascinated with beauty and the confidence beautiful hair and makeup can bring.
✨That’s why I started Lucy St John hair and makeup in Richmond Upon Thames; to offer the best and most naturally beautiful bridal hair and makeup.
🤍At Lucy St John, it’s not just about the hair and makeup; it’s about the entire experience.
When asked what my favourite thing to do is, the answer comes easily: Bridal hair and makeup!
✨This is not to say I don’t enjoy doing other things; I am one of those fortunate people who loves every aspect of their job! But Bridal hair and makeup is just so rewarding that I could do it all day.
🤍Initially, I found bridal hair and makeup challenging. I would dread seeing bridal trial appointments booked in. However, I was inspired by and . I took several of their training courses, immersed myself in all the bridal hair and makeup content I could find, both online and in person.
Fast-forward about 18 years to today, I absolutely love bridal beauty. I get so excited when I see a bridal trial appointment booked in. I could talk about it all day.

Bridal hair and makeup artist Richmond-upon-Thames. Behind-the-scenes photo dump!
When I looked at my phone, I saw that most of the pictures are of my beautiful brides so I’ve included one of myself with Fran who got married last month.
I was also lucky enough to go to Greece and do the worlds best ever Pilates Retreat with .m.pilates.
And did you know I home educate my children? Yes, that is a beaker with a Bunsen burner in my house! I’ve also been navigating the perimenopause and steadily improving my cake making skills (it’s only taken 12 years)
I don’t think I’ve ever posted such random pictures before!

🌟Bridal hair inspo
💜When I first starting doing bridal hair 18 years ago (!!) Brides would come to me with Inspo ideas from Pinterest or google images, then it was from instagram but it was never my own work.
That idea that someone would use my own work as inspo for their own hair was a dream so far away that it never even entered my head. I didn’t know it was a thing!
But a few years ago, brides, bridesmaids and special guests would pull up images of hair that I had created!! 🥂🙌🏼 It’s only now that I realise what an honour that is!
I like to stop every now and again to realise how far I’ve come since I fantasised about being a wedding hair and makeup artist where I lived in Richmond Upon Thames.
