Thank you Davis Funerals for your wonderful mahi today. The Davis team were in this morning to do some work in the Rongoā garden. They cleared a significant amount of weeds and also refreshed Hurihuri - the water feature they originally sponsored. Nice one team!

As long time partners of Hospice West Auckland, we were delighted to be able to support the Volunteers Matariki Thank You Lunch. With over one hundred volunteers attending, it was a lovely way to show our appreciation of all the hard work they do day in, day out.

Choosing the right funeral home matters more than ever.

Today, information about funerals is everywhere. Some of it is helpful. Some of it is not.

In New Zealand, the funeral industry is completely de-regulated. That means anyone can call themselves a funeral director. There is no mandatory licensing.

When you are arranging a farewell for someone you love, that matters.

At Davis Funerals, we are members of the Funeral Directors Association of New Zealand. That means we are independently regulated, audited, and held to a strict code of ethics and professional standards.

But regulation is only part of it.

Experience, cultural understanding and professional training are critical, especially where families have diverse backgrounds, religious requirements or specific farewell wishes. You only get one opportunity to say goodbye. It must be handled with care, skill and dignity.

Recent media coverage in Auckland and Waikato has shown what can go wrong when the wrong choice is made. The emotional impact on families can be lasting.

That is why we provide complete, end-to-end care. From the first phone call, to transfer, mortuary care, planning, service delivery and grief support, everything is managed by one experienced team in our own facilities.

If you would like to understand what to look for when choosing a funeral home, we’re here to help.

At Davis Funeral Care, we are incredibly proud of our Gold Partnership with the Auckland Philharmonia.💛

For many years, we have been presenters of the In Your Neighbourhood concerts, helping bring the orchestra into communities across Auckland so people can enjoy beautiful live music closer to home.

This year, we are also supporting a wonderful new initiative, Morning Music. This series of three concerts is held at the Auckland Town Hall at 11.30 am and has been designed especially for those who may no longer feel comfortable attending full-length evening performances. It offers the opportunity to still experience exceptional music in the magnificent Town Hall, but at a time and pace that feels more welcoming and accessible.

Monday’s performance of Brahms’ Fourth Symphony was enjoyed by hundreds of attendees and was a truly special morning.

Supporting initiatives like this matters to us because we care about the communities we serve. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy meaningful experiences, connections, and culture throughout every stage of life.
