Salin PH aims to reduce the packaging waste generated by Filipino households and communities by deploying reuse, refill, and circular economy solutions for both businesses and consumers in the Philippines. We are supported by various organizations: makesense, WWF, xChange, YSEALI MAP, US Embassy to the Philippines, New Energy Nexus, Creatella Impact and Villgro Philippines.

Salin PH was the only SEA-MaP participant from the Philippines at the 3rd Innovation Expo on Scaling Demand-Driven Innovations for Plastic Circularity in ASEAN, held at ICE BSD City, Indonesia alongside Times Higher Education's Global Sustainable Development Congress themed "Collective action for a sustainable future."

Our CEO, Krishia Pauline Ellis brought Balik Salin to the room — our university-anchored, multistakeholder reuse infrastructure pilot built with Plastic Reboot and NutriAsia — and presented it to a regional audience of corporates, investors, and policymakers from across ASEAN.

She walked in feeling humbled. She walked out inspired.

The surprise was the number of Philippine university leaders in the room, from all three major island groups. First conversations happened. We are hoping they become pilots.

The validation was clear: campuses want to go first on circular economy. Turns out, plastic-free campuses are not a future goal. They are a present one.

A few things Krishia is bringing home:

— We're in a crisis of imagination; too often we don't act as if the problem is real.
— And yet, in that room, imagination was in abundance.
— If a problem is worth solving, the solution is worth doing.
— No single organization can meet this demand alone.

So we will end the way the Expo did, with an invitation. If you want to be the next pilot site for a reuse infrastructure in the Philippines, let's talk. 🌱
