REIMBURSEMENT FOR OFFLOADED PASSENGERS SOUGHT

Isinusulong sa Senado ang panukalang batas para sa reimbursement ng travel expenses ng mga biyaherong hindi pinasakay sa eroplano dahil sa umano'y hindi makatarungan at matagal na pre-departure procedures ng Bureau of Immigration (BI).

Sa ilalim ng panukalang "Passenger Protection and Reimbursement for Deferred Departures Act" na inihain ni Sen. Raffy Tulfo, magkakaroon ng malinaw, pare-pareho, at transparent na probisyon sa pagsoli ng travel expenses.

Paglilinaw ng Senador, hindi nito saklaw ang mga pasaherong na-o-offload dahil hindi nakapagpakita ng kailangang travel documents, may umiiral na court order, may pinekeng dokumento, at mga nakitang posibleng biktima ng human trafficking at sangkot sa illegal recruitment.
