MBBS seats increased for Punjab Students

پاکستان میڈیکل اینڈ ڈینٹل کونسل (PMDC) نے پنجاب کے سرکاری میڈیکل کالجز میں 475 نئی نشستوں کے اضافے کی منظوری دے دی ہے، جس کے بعد صوبے میں مزید طلبہ و طالبات کو میڈیکل تعلیم کے مواقع میسر آئیں گے۔ یہ منظوری 14 جولائی 2026 کو منعقدہ پاکستان میڈیکل اینڈ ڈینٹل کونسل کے اجلاس میں دی گئی۔ حکومت پنجاب کی جانب سے 2025 میں پیش کی گئی درخواست اور صوبائی وزیر صحت خواجہ سلمان رفیق کی خصوصی کاوشوں کے نتیجے میں یہ اہم پیش رفت ممکن ہوئی۔ نئے اضافے کے بعد پنجاب کے سرکاری میڈیکل کالجز میں ایم بی بی ایس نشستوں کی تعداد 3,476 سے بڑھ کر 3,951 ہو گئی ہے، جبکہ میڈیکل اور ڈینٹل کالجز کی مجموعی نشستیں 3,766 سے بڑھ کر 4,241 ہو گئی ہیں۔ اس موقع پر صوبائی وزیر صحت خواجہ سلمان رفیق نے کہا کہ نشستوں میں اضافے سے پنجاب کے زیادہ سے زیادہ طلبہ کو معیاری طبی تعلیم حاصل کرنے کا موقع ملے گا۔ انہوں نے اس کامیابی پر سیکرٹری صحت پنجاب عظمت محمود اور ان کی ٹیم کی خصوصی کاوشوں کو سراہتے ہوئے پاکستان میڈیکل اینڈ ڈینٹل کونسل کا بھی شکریہ ادا کیا۔
