I spent HOURS carefully working through layers of artificial red pigment, trying to remove as much as possible while still protecting the integrity of her hair.

Did we get a much better result than what we started with? Absolutely. 🙌

Did we achieve the final color I envisioned? Not yet.

And that’s the reality of color correction. Sometimes, no matter how skilled or experienced your stylist is, the hair decides how far you can safely go in one session.

This was a HUGE first step, but our desired look is still to come. Beautiful, healthy color sometimes takes multiple sessions — and I will always choose healthy hair over forcing a result.

So before you reach for that next box of color… remember, someone may have to spend hours undoing it later. 😉

For summer, I decided to replace my straight extensions with a curly/wavy texture because my natural hair is curly. Between the heat, humidity, and beach days, I don’t want to spend time straightening my hair just to have it frizzy an hour later.

Now my extensions match my natural texture, blend seamlessly, and I can embrace my curls instead of fighting them. 🙌
