Starting out at the age of 15 years old as just a shampoo assistant, Juan Moses was determined to have his name on the tip of everyone’s lips. After five years, Juan slowly worked his way up to become assistant stylist to some of the top stylists of the legendary PLATINUM SHEARS HAIR SALON!! With passion and determination, as Juan continued to assist at Platinum Shears, he attended Berean Institute’s cosmetology program to enhance his knowledge of hair care. After finishing top of his class and becoming a licensed cosmetologist, Juan then sought to gain his own clientele and create his own name by leaving the cradle of mentors, Shahida Jefferson & Leon Hutcherson. Now being 17 years in the industry (12 years licensed), Juan has firmly established himself as an iconic force within the Philadelphia hair industry circuit; acquiring numerous awards and accolades along the way. Juan is the first Philadelphia stylist to grace the cover not once, but twice, on Atlanta-based hair publication, “Mazza International.” In addition, Juan’s creativity and talents have afforded him the covers of “Salon Profiles”, “Metrostyles” (Atlanta-based), and “Coiffure Magazine” (Philadelphia-based). Along with these achievements, Juan has been crowned Stylist of the Year in “Style Q Magazine”, five time recipient of Hair Oscars (including 2011 Cut & Style Winner) 2010 recipient of Philadelphia’s Best of the Best award,and last but not least…2012 3rd place winner of the Bobbi Boss “Hair Boss” competition in Atlanta,Georgia. As director and producer of his first instructional DVD on weaving, cutting and styling, Juan has now become a master stylist amongst his peers and upcoming stylists. Juan has also accomplished founding his very own networking group by the name of B.L.I.S.S.(Beauty Lifestyles and Industry Soul Sundays) along with becoming a platform educator for ESSATIONS Multi-cultural Haircare line! As Juan continues to soar new heights, his immediate future plans are to attend the John Paul Mitchell Academy to harness his creativity in cutting and coloring techniques. The sky is the limit and Juan Moses has no plans on ever touching the ground!
