Celebrating success with a patient today! sge is a 41 year old female with primary concern of having zero libido, currently taking birth control pill. I treated her with Testosterone pellets and she still had no libido even though her labs were optimal for Testosterone.   I then advised her to add the supplement DIM to her regimen.    She did and immediately noticed an improvement in her libido, energy, night sweats and overall sense of heat during the day.  What is likely going on here : her birth control pill is probably increasing her levels of s*x hormone binding globulin (SHBG) and as a result she likely has lower free Testosterone (free T is the T that is available to act on cells).  DIM, extracted from cruciferous veggies, increases free Testosterone- effectively releasing T from SHBG.  I recommend DIM for all patients on hormone replacement therapy, but in this case it was critical for a positive outcome. Yay for DIM!
