Our work is grounded in dignity and respect offering pathways to healing one person at a time. We believe that the service of caring through touch is a sacred work of compassion, justice, and love. We offer free seated massage by trained massage therapists to San Francisco's unhoused and marginally housed. Our mission is to be present with human suffering and promote healing through human connection. We do this by serving in the spirit of compassion, non-judgment, and love.

Trauma lives in the body. It stresses the nervous system, impairs judgment and triggers fight or flight mode. Compassionate touch/trauma informed massage can help regulate the nervous system, reduce stress and over time restore a deep sense of safety. At CTI, we understand that healing requires more than words.

To know Lisa is to love her. A former client, Lisa now gives her gift of healing massage to others seeking relief and connection. Every week at ladies night in the mission, she offers her joy and humor to clients who return week after week. Here, she shares her thoughts on Holy Thursday on the annual CTI ritual of foot massage on this day. Always by her side is her faithful companion Claude, her pet turtle.
