This week marks the start of Chǔ Shǔ (处暑), or End of Heat, the 14th solar term of the year.

Chǔ Shǔ is one of the most transitional solar terms. The summer heat finally releases its hold, mornings and evenings turn cool and the air loses moisture, which the body may respond to with qiū zào (秋燥) or “autumn dryness.”

As the season associated with the Lungs and Large Intestine, fall is the time to replenish the body’s moisture through practices that nurture our digestive and respiratory systems.

Here’s our TCM guide to support your wellbeing 🍂

Easing into the weekend with one of our favorite rituals. 🌹 A nurturing décolletage and breast massage is a beautiful way to release tension, soften the body, and encourage the smooth flow of Qi.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the area from the collarbones through the chest and ribs is traversed by several important meridian pathways.

Taking a few mindful moments to massage this area can be a simple way to support circulation and reconnect with the body.

Pair with our Decolletage Treatment and Gua Sha for a slow, grounding ritual of returning to self.

A warming foot soak is one of the simplest yet most restorative rituals you can add to your wellness routine, especially as we transition from summer to autumn. ♨️

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the feet are home to many important acupoints and channels. A warm soak infused with mugwort can help warm the body, encourage circulation, and ease you into deeper rest.

Will you be adding this to your evening ritual?

Happy August, and happy Beginning of Autumn 🍂 We’ve entered Lì Qiū (立秋), the 13th solar term of the year, marking the gradual transition into autumn.

While it may still feel very much like summer, Yin is slowly growing as Yang begins to contract in the natural world.

The weeks ahead may remain warm, damp, and humid. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, lingering “dampness” can burden the Spleen and Stomach.

Dampness can show up as heaviness, water retention, lethargy, sluggishness, phlegm, loose stools, or a diminished appetite.

Here are our TCM tips to help you move through this seasonal transition with greater ease.
